Capital Long Drive Classic

.

The Capital Long Drive Classic will bring together a roster of top Long Drive professionals for the first ever golf competition on the National Mall. The Long Drivers will compete along the backdrop of the Lincoln and MLK Memorials. This exhibition will be a showcase of incredible golf skills and power, as well as racial and gender diversity within the game of golf.

The Venue

The National Mall will be converted into a one-of-a-kind long drive “arena”. The area normally celebrated for Cherry Blossoms will turn into the most scenic view in Long Drive competition. Washington DC has a rich history in golf. In 1923, DC hosted the USGA Championship at East Potomac Park Golf Course. The United States Colored Golf Association was founded in Washington DC in 1925, and Lee Elder, the first black man to play in The Masters, managed DC’s Langston Golf Course from 1978-1981.
